Ice And Fire Mod fills the world with creatures drawn from myth and legend. Some are companions, some are bosses and some are simply dangerous neighbours. This overview groups the best-known ones by where you are likely to meet them, so you know what to prepare for.

Dragons

The centrepiece of the mod. Fire and ice dragons appear across the world in suitable climates, and the later version line adds lightning dragons. Each dragon type has its own element, lair, loot and gear, and all can be raised from eggs, as covered in the dragon taming guide.

In the sky and the mountains

  • Hippogryphs: part eagle, part horse, and one of the classic mounts players tame before attempting a dragon.
  • Amphitheres: winged serpents associated with jungles.
  • Stymphalian birds: aggressive flocks that attack from the air.

On land and underground

  • Cyclopes: giants living in cave homes, often near sheep. Approach with a plan.
  • Gorgons: encountered in their own temples; their gaze is the danger, so how you look at them matters.
  • Cockatrices: smaller creatures with a dangerous stare.
  • Trolls: large cave dwellers with heavy weapons.
  • Death worms: burrowing threats of the desert sands.
  • Myrmex: giant ant colonies with hives and a social structure players can interact with.
  • Pixies: tiny, mischievous and found in their own villages. They are known for taking items.

At sea and in wetlands

  • Sirens: they lure players toward danger near the water.
  • Sea serpents: huge ocean creatures best respected from a distance.
  • Hippocampi: sea creatures that can be tamed for travel in water.
  • Hydras: multi-headed swamp creatures that make for a demanding fight.

Use the Bestiary

The mod includes an in-game Bestiary book that documents its creatures. Because behaviour and drops can change between versions, the Bestiary for your installed version is the most reliable reference. Our Ice And Fire Mod features overview summarise how these creatures fit together.
